This online academic module aims to provide opportunity for learners to critically appraise the context of living with and beyond cancer,whilst analysing national/local drivers that aim to influence practice in their own area.
The course is relevant to a wide range of Professionals who work within settings which support the needs of those living with and beyond cancer.
This module is suitable for those with appropriate background qualifications to study at Masters Level 7. This course can be taken as CPD or as part of the MSc Cancer Care Programme pathway.

This 1 semester module runs once a year commencing in April of each year.
The module is asynchronous, meaning the teaching content is released on a Tuesday for 6 consecutive weeks of the module.

The Cancer Survivor | School of Allied Health Professions and Nursing | University of Liverpool
Content will include contemporary considerations pertaining to broad effects/impacts of cancer and treatments, behavioural, communication and other supportive initiatives aligned to their potential in positively addressing individual need and well-being for those living with and beyond cancer.
Individual topics include:
- The broad impact of Living with and Beyond Cancer, looking at national and local guidance
- Long term side effects of cancer treatments, and the impact on quality of life
- Childhood and TYA late effects, and impacts on fertility
-Radiotherapy late effects of treatment
- Physical Activity, exercise and nutrition in living with and beyond cancer
- Ethical consdierations in cancer care
- Addressing gaps in service- what can we do to help people living with and beyond cancer. Real life examples.
